Statistical literacy of teachers in pre-primary education

The present paper attempts to present bibliographical references in the research field of statistical literacy of teachers as well as to present the findings of research to preschool educators that highlight issues related to their statistical literacy. Firstly, issues such as the definition and characteristics of statistical thinking, data and information concepts, proposed classifications in education, and the quality of data and information quality are described. The following are the findings of a study of 47 kindergartens, from 21 Kindergartens in the Municipality of Florina and especially the frequency of use of mathematical and statistical terms in the exercise of their educational work. The work concludes with the presentation of elements that are the subject of discussion or further investigation into the issue of the development of teacher literacy statistics in Preschool Education.
